I begun playing airsoft as a DMR and was a hellish road untill I figured out it was just simply not my kind of gamestyle.
Even If DMRs are move movie and closer to combat than snipers, you can already tell the huge difference from playing as a regular assault rifleman.
Extra advice: It will take A LOT of money and time to adjust a working and satisfying DMR or sniper. Snipers might actually need less fiddling and you may just buy one that already works fine. Not so much the case for DMRs. If you are new to airsoft, just avoid this, get a cheap assault rifle, break it, learn about your own playstyle and then realize if you will enjoy playing other ways. I didn't take that advice and ended up not enjoying myslef that much untill I finally gave up on my M14 and went to rifles and smgs, now I'm happier. be smarter than me

Sniping for me is getting the hit with that one shot and not by spaying one target.
Just my two cents
I always say use the heaviest BBs possible. It may only hop the .48s 50-60m but the flight path will be flatter than the .4 BBs which some people would prefer. Most shots I would say are around that mark, if not a slight bit further. You’ve got three options really. Leave it as is and play with either .48 or .4 BBs and play to the rifles style. Give .45g BBs a go as they’ll probably be a good middle ground as is. Or upgrade the hop rubber to a 70degree and you should be able to get the extra hop you want on the .48g BBs. You could also put in a longer barrel or a heavier piston which will give you more power and could help with the range with .48g BBs
