The AA12 has 80 m/s (260 fps) and approaches machineguns by its weight so no one ever complained about it, the highest upgrade I saw (apart from HPA conversion) is to go for about 100 m/s (330 fps) which wouldn't scare anyone (as 120 m/s - 390 fps is considered a baseline now - most guns sell with that power).
When there is a limitation on rifles to use midcap mags, or there is a general restriction on electric drums for rifles I have to appeal to the organizers that they allow AA-12 as machinegun (to use electric winding mag) to stay competitive as the volume of fire is the only thing which goes for it and those midcaps are gone SO quickly (and I don't want to invest to have a dozen...).
But Iooooove to shoot with it, I ordered one as soon as it was available, mine could have been the first in the country for all I know, as it was not in our shops yet, when I ordered it and for reasons above, there wasn't (and is not) too big of a demand for them.
But I said it when I was starting with airsoft 15 years ago and come to know that there are AEGs and the tri-shot shotguns: "Once there will be an electric tri-shot shotgun I'm getting it immediately." I did hope for USAS-12 as that is my favorite crazy auto shotgun, but still. I love my TM AA-12.

Im from germany and i use the 2020 MK3 model and yes its really frightening what you can actually do with it not only that it can be modified to shoot real 12G there are actually refit kits for it
The MK3 has a different bolt to prevent it but said kits complete ignore that also its hard cause here its seen as a home defense weapon since you can store everything in those shells
I still use it. Its a funny thing but do me a favor and act responsible with it. Airsofts still to a point are guns and it has a reason why we need a certain age here to obtain these.

The two modalities are fine and fun but are incompatible with each other. Most of the problems between milsim players and speedsofters are cause by gameplay differences.
Not saying that the two couldn’t play together, what im saying is that separating game modes could solve this conflict. Separating in:
1-speedsoft fields;
2-mixed games (everyone can play in any style it wants)
3-milsim fields.
If you want a more frenetic and intense gameplay go to a speedsoft game.
Want to play with all kinds of player in various styles go to a mixed match.
Want to play in a more realistic tatic experience go to a milsim event.
In theory it seems simple, but i know that in practice this idea should be more thought out. Is just a suggestion for a problem that i see coming up a lot when talking about speedsofters.

Coz guess what, I too cannot enjoy a game in which people are running all over the field like absolute lunatics and taking out half the enemy team before they've taken 2 steps outside the spawn! I don't wanna be on the lookout for them all the time coz they could attack from behind at any second after cutting through our front lines within the first 5 seconds of the game, I wanna concentrate on what's in front of me and be able to trust my team mates to not let the enemy players break through (which is just about impossible when regular airsofters that can fire like 5 shots a second if they're in a HURRY run into speedsofters that easily trigger off 10 RPS without breaking a sweat)!
Don't get me wrong, I enjoy WATCHING people like OC airsoft coz I always get a rise out of their anti-cheater footage but I as an honest player wouldn't wanna play against nor with them coz they'd either take me out every 5 seconds or take away my chances of hitting anyone myself coz by the time any of MY BBs would reach any of the enemy players they would've taken out the whole enemy team like 3 times over.
If u are a speedsofter or don't mind playing with them go to dedicated speedsoft events but don't ruin the game for slower-paced players that just wanna have fun.

That's the real only reason fields have for banning airsoft guns ,fps and making a "engagement distance " in the first place is "KIDS" on the field kids can't even buy the darn things legally but some how are allowed on fields ....???? It's a no brainer ban anyone under 18 from playing on fields and then make the rest of the 18+ older sign field wavers mandatory eye and face protection ......and let loose all the high powered airsoft weaponry from
Miniguns to grenades and no more engagement distance .

Ive seen a few "airsoft" suppressors (empty metal tube with end caps only) that can actually be considered a firearm suppressor (tax stamp needed), according to the ATF.

BTW, "It's not fair" has got to be the most infuriating thing that has ever been said to me while running an event. I understand unnecessary overkill, but it's all fair within the ruleset.

I do not care for this trend. So I will not be subbing or liking and I'm pretty sure everyone knows how that works by now.
The stock gets wobbly if you don’t crank the screw that holds it together and the alignment of the barrel set is annoying to deal with sometimes.
It’s just a Gen 2 combat machine though.
Milsim doesn't work in Speedsoft meta situations barring very few situations.
Speedsoft would absolutely flounder at Milsim games (specifically MSW events) barring very few situations.

Ain't my thing, but it's just sad that people would ban a gun, or even players, because of a play style.
Not to say I don't understand why, speedsofters seem to cause more issues than other play styles, but you can't judge a player based on their preferred play style.
Can't say I'd even want to play at the fields where the people running it have that sort of attitude either, there'd probably be all sorts of bullshit drama surrounding them wanting to dictate how people play.

On my field, the first time I played was a shotgun only game, and while everybody had spring and gas pump action shotguns, there was one guy who came with an AA12 with a drum, probably one of the best games I ever played.

Either way, like Donut Media, who are mechanics, and so videos on cars and building them and etc, I love the content. Though my experience with Air Soft is me and my friend taking each other out with 3 different types of guns one night to see who’d tear up first (All gas except the BB guns. But BB, and gas powered Pellet Hunting Rifles made strictly to kill smaller animals in one shot and gas powered Air Soft machine gun gas powered) while my experience with cars is they go vrrrrrrrroooooooooom

The UK limits mean they make a LOT more sense. Having to be sub 360fps for an automatic means strafers aren't a massive issue.
They are balanced/limited by air volume and the lack of hopup so as long as you set a sensible limit on the power they are fine.
Not many airsoft guns can actually put fear into people but the strafer is one of the few that can.
