I used to go to the rifle range to shoot years ago because I liked target practice, but I certainly do NOT want to kill anyone, just because I know how! Sure there is satisfaction in being able to hit a small target with a laser gun but even that pales when you can do it every time! I hope they are shooting blanks, probably are, but in some war exercises, they train with blanks and then use real gunfire. probably to test the bravado of the soldiers who are involved in those games.
In this century, more and more, wars are being fought in the air, not on the ground. Ground forces are still used, but not as much now and soon, ALL of the action will be in the air. Some military still has to go in and pick up those or the pieces of those who are shot down, and probably will continue to, but certainly not nearly as much now.
