Well, I'm not Silo (obviously) but I'd first recommend to do your own research and not ask a guy that's heavily sponsored (that basically doesn't pay his gear), even a guy as nice as Silo.

With that said, I would personally recommend something like a G&G CM16 or Amoeba HoneyBadger. Good platform , quite decent performances (the newer ones), easily customizable and upgrade-able. It should give you a great feel of what you want and don't, for a relatively low price.

Please don't start with a bolt action sniper like some do, most are disappointed.

Don’t play this game myself and I’m not sure what level of realism is supposed to applied but the bloke with the mini gun and the endless ammunition isn’t even vaguely realistic surely? How much does the weapon weigh and how much ammo is he allowed to carry?
