Also, ASG is just like Cybergun or Umarex, company that licenses guns rather than making them. And Cybergun 1911 is either KWC or KJW, depending on the model.

ASG, Cybergun, Umarex... don't produce the airsofts, they only have the license right to sell it with markings. ASG produces one airsoft by themselfs, die Evo.
WE position and G&G totally wrong.
Whole top ten really wrong and Kings Arms were hot in 2020 the 9mm PDW was mega popular and VFc and Umarex... same thing
not to0 mention their mk23 rocks as does their fun switch glock...Seems their quality should have put them on the list.....or am I missing something?
Anyway, here's my list (minus oddball companies like RWA or Inokatsu and rebranders like Umarex/ASG/Cybergun):
1. GHK. One of the best choice for GBBR with solid internals and externals.
2. E&L. internals built for performance with superb externals.
3. LCT. Solid QC, great externals, internals built for reliability.
4. ICS. Excellent split gearbox design, SSS II ETU is excellent, good externals.
5. MAS. Great internals for the price, best performance AEGs for the money.
6. VFC. Great externals. Both GBBRs and AEGs have some quirks, VFC designed pistols aren't that great.
7. KWA. If you want a TM NGRS, get this instead. Too bad they were retarded enough to release shit ton of models with proprietary magazines.
8. Krytac. They still perform well, but somewhat proprietary parts + weak AR-15 receivers.
9. TM. The future is now, old man.
10 KJW. While not as good as TM, their gas guns are consistently well made.
11. Classic Army. They could be higher on the list, but it doesn't look like things are going very well for CA.
12. G&P. Top notch externals, quirky internals.
13. G&G. Their top of the line G2 gearbox is nice, externals aren't shabby either... But rest of the lineup is mediocre, plenty of models with proprietary magazines.
14. Arcturus. Nice externals, but I wish they would use ETU instead of microswitch.
15. E&C. Positioned lower than Arcturus because externals aren't as nice.
16. King Arms. They have some of the more unique models on the market, but they don't really have anything that could be considered high end. Externals are overall better than Cyma with similar quality internals.
17. Cyma. They do have lot of well built guns for the price, but they also have dumpster fire like 500/600 series..
18. WE. Pretty much hit or miss. Sure, their glocks and Sig based pistols are nice, 1911 platform? Not so much. Their AEGs? Not so much.
19. Ares. Frankly, they are overpriced for what they are. Might look cool, but build quality is a let down.
20. JG. Some decent options for budget rifles.

1. G&G= Solid, affordable, reliable overall
2. Tokyo Marui= The god of pistols
3. ICS= High buy in, high performance
4. LCT= Steel and externally perfect guns
5. WE Tech= Work horse GBB weapons
- fire selector did not work, it was so bad that sometimes it did full auto on safe
- couldn't hop a 0.3
- none of the 3 mags feed properly
- horrible gearbox shimming, I mean really bad, the sector gear was especially tight, so tight that the motor has heated up fast
- irons can't be properly zeroed for elevation
- unbalanced, most of the weight is on the front
- body is too tight, hard to disassemble. I already did it like a million times trying to fix the issues so mine has loosend up a bit.
You can hope that their V3 gearbox and AK mags are better but I wouldn't risk it. This was the first and last LCT I've bought, too many problems for more than $400.
But did not really help me out to get an idea of what is what and how good.. VFC came pretty high in the list - but after watching so many Negative Airsoft tech videos regarding VFC... no clue what to believe in..

Then, there are those absolutely awful SCAR-Hs with tons of wiring and air seal issues. GBBR MSKs snapping hammers and hop-ups. I want one of these MSKs bad, but I can't stand the idea of investing +$150 dollars onto a $350 gun just to make so it wont tear itselft apart
15 years later, I have NEVER had to open the gearbox. ONCE. And I'm not sure how longer the previous owner had it before me. And it has dominated on the field. Super accurate even with .25s and great range/reliability. Granted, the past 10 years or so I've played sporadically, but the aeg was completely disassembled (gearbox intact though) for ~3 years until I put it back together recently. Shot like I took it to a skirmish the previous day.
The only "cons" to it is that I had to replace the outer barrel a couple years ago due to wear and tear, and that the plastic receiver has been falling apart and I've been using zip ties to keep that together (one of the reasons I had it apart...was debating getting a Metal body for it.)
But oh no, a plastic body starting to fail after 15 years! How terrible!....yeah no it's fully expected. The FPS has dropped to about 350 from 375 (with .2s) from spring wear, so I may open it up for the first time to install a fresh spring.
Whenever the TM M16 finally stops working, it's going on my wall as a display piece for being the best airsoft gun I've ever owned, and you can bet 100% I'm replacing it with another TM. The only question is...EBBR or GBBR ZET system? That's a decision for another day.
TL:DR If you're on the fence about getting a Tokyo Marui, just do it. Best airsoft decision you can make.
Now I will say, nothing shoots as smooth and as accurate and the Wolverine MTW! I'm not a fan of carrying a tank, especially during vehicle based ops, but damn that thing shoots so good!
